Gayle's studio (Ewe-topian Farm
Stained Glass) has all the goodies for lovers of stained glass and fused glass.
Gayle has four kilns to handle every fused-glass
project from large, to jewellery.
Tiffany Lamps, and unique Georgian Bay scenes,
reminiscent of the Group of Seven, are among her specialities.
Shoppers will find plates, candle-holders, abstract
wall hangings, sun-catchers and virtually everything that can be created with
glass. All are unique and crafted with
the artistry and care that is Gayle's trademark.
You would think that custom projects, home and
cottage windows would round out her workweek. But, Gayle finds the time to
teach the techniques she has acquired over 35 years of working with glass.
Her studio/workshop is a very social place, with
beginners to experts learning from each other and creating beautiful, and often
functional works of glass art.
Ewe-Topian – so named for years of raising sheep –
is also the source of glass, tools, supplies, advice and friendship for glass
artists throughout a wide area.
Husband Ken, retired from sheep-farming and
teaching, creates colourful bowls, plates and garden art from concrete. Concrete has never looked so beautiful or so
natural – a must see at the Thompson's country haven.
